It's surprisingly interesting (but you have to watch the entire episode to realize the twists)

It airs in Osaka five days before it airs in Tokyo and six days before it airs in Okinawa. AFAIU, it was simulcasting with Tokyo, and they have moved it ahead of the Tokyo broadcast to get closer to the Osaka broadcast.

As the "hub" for the story, the cute cat-girl alien fits the bill. The speaking Japanese part is quite logical, especially if Japan was where she originally intended to land, or if we find out later she also speaks various other human languages. If you were traveling to a foreign land (which another planet definitely qualifies as), it would not be unusual to learn the language first.

Yeah, I know what you mean, Crunchyroll only gets anime like catgirls ... fighting hollows ... playing soccer ... harboring a crush on her female classmate ... and saving the world from climate apocalypse ... on a hyperpowered motorcycle ... while delivering mail in a shadowy fantasy landscape. Its like all so similar. All sarcasm aside, what evidence is there that Crunchy did not want Sengoku Basara 2? The more obvious explanation is that Funimation licensed it for streaming, and so far Funimation has not streamed any of their shows on Crunchyroll.
