Otakus in Japan are different than the Otakus the non-Japanese people think they are. They are very extreme, as in... Collecting figurine, buying dakishimete pillows, having a waifu, being an hikkikomori, collecting ero magazines, collecting doujins and -----etc. In one word, KIMOI. If you're just a normal dude that likes animu desu, then you're just a normal animu rabuaaaaa---not an otaku. Read Genshiken and you'll understand what otakus are. It's all about otakus, bby.REAL OTAKUS.There's nothing to be proud to be an otaku if you don't want to be labeled as kimoi. There's a lot of people who like watching anime, but that doesn't mean that they're necessarily otakus. Otakus in Japan are considered as WEIRDOS, OUT-OF-THE-ORDINARY people. You can draw manga without being an otaku, you can draw anime-style picture without being an otaku, you can appreciate the Modern Visual Japanese Culture without being an otaku.OTAKU IS EXCESSIVENESS. NEVERTHELESS,they're proud of what they are. They are NOT ASHAMED OF WHAT THEY ARE. To be an otaku just go 4chan for a month everyday in /a/ and you'll get the image. Weaboos are considered of the same caliber as otakus(in Japan) but oh my so many people are tsun-tsun to admit that they're the same thing(wwwwwwwwwwww) but it's not like it's insulting or anything,it's just the same thing used by trolls desu(stated by someone in this thread already) So yeah.Weaboos>Otakus 'cause they're more...interesting(you know which way,the cool story bro one). Go search for HJ freak on youtube and that 's the kind of interesting I meant. And it's a term that reffers more to non-Japanese otakus peeps. while Otakus are omoshiroi ku nai :< and a bit of nanka kimochi warui sa 'cuse me, my trolling habits made me abuse the nihongo language desu nyo. And yes I'm a proud weaboo and what's wrong with that. What I read: KIMOI. REAL OTAKUS WEIRDOS, OUT-OF-THE-ORDINARY OTAKU IS EXCESSIVENESS. NEVERTHELESS, NOT ASHAMED OF WHAT THEY ARE. You and your sublime messages. Epic. |

Otaku is shorthand for Asian takeout (not meals on wheels or some 33rd cousin of someone from Tacoma, WA). Weeaboo is something Australian, probably an Oz recreation vehicle manufacturer aka US's Winnebago. I like the term yahoo, it's a kinder, gentler sense of derision descriptor than cracker or trailer trash.

Truckstop food IS good food. MYTH: the universal language.

I pronounce weeabo as "wheee-ah-bow".
Is that wrong? |

Otaku: a Japanese word equivalent to 'geek'. Refers to someone who have a relatively large interest in a certain subject. There are anime otaku, manga otaku, train otaku, and just about any other otaku you can think of. Otaku are generally seen as being socially inept and obsessed with their respective area of interest.
Weeaboo: a derogatory English term used to refer to westerners (usually white) who express an extreme interest in Japanese anime, manga, and other areas of Japanese pop culture. Weeaboo is distinct from Japanophile, which is not necessarily a derogatory designation, and refers to a person who holds a love or fascination for Japan as a whole, including its history, culture, and cuisine, and not just its pop culture. |

Otakus are people with a weird obsession with anime, weeaboos are westerners that purposely try to make themselves look obsessed because they think it'll make them Japanese.

I play american video games, silly people missing out.
I don't watch American television shows mainly because i cant stand the way everything is over dramatic. But i would say im definitely not a weeaboo. I think in the way of technology goes Japan is way better then anywhere else. But yea im no weeaboo hehe |

The only difference is that a weeaboo is non-Japanese.
Everything else is exactly the same. |

No robots walking around the streets, or holographic adverts everywhere. I guess taxi doors open automatically, but that's about all I can come up with. |
