honestly i'd love an entire brand new manga series in color instead of the proverbial black n white and a few shades of grey.. color helps you understand what the artist is trying to express.

Believe it or not, but there are comics that are entirely printed in color and a lot of them are US comics. |

I dunno if this answers your question, but this is coming from me, an artist.
Manga artists usually use Copic markers if they are traditionally colouring in manga. You know the colour pages? Those copic markers can be used as easily as using a computer program. Using a computer program, like Photoshop or Sai easy painter, may be easier but it requires skill with handeye coordination. Basically, if ur on a low budget, you have to look at the screen while drawing without looking at your hands. Believe me, its takes practice to do it right. There are sheets of tone paper, or toner, that you can buy if you want to traditionally shade the clothings, backgrounds etc. And the dots that they do? Yeah, they do them by hand, but now usually poeple just scan them onto a computer and use a program to do them. It saves time and energy. |
