People are always ragging on shoujo heroines but I think some BOYS in manga are just as detestable, if not more, either for being abusive jerks, annoying, or just plain BORING or TOO PERFECT (a.k.a. 'Gary Stu')
These are mine:

Name: Shimotsuki Akira
Manga: Watashi Ni XX Shinasai!!

Why: ..............*twitches* WHERE do I start with this guy!? He flat out disgusts me. Constantly. He thinks just because his parents died and he's lonely, he can get away with doing WHATEVER he wants and he doesn't care about anything but himself or who he hurts in the process!! He's in "love" with his cousin, Yukina, he looks like a girl, he pathetically clings to her like a leech, he's constantly forcing himself on her like a horny little pervert, he cries and whines when she's paying attention to her TRUE love interest AND he does incredibly underhanded things to make his love rival look bad out of jealousy, while putting on this sickeningly fake "I'm your prince and I'll protect you always" whenever Yukina's upset, usually from something HE CAUSED IN THE FIRST PLACE.
So yeah.
I HATE YOU, AKIRA. GO DIE IN A CORNER SOMEWHERE.
.........Yukina should've just let that car run you over when you were four. lol

Name: Sakurai Eichi
Manga: Full Moon Wo Sagashite

Why: He's the ultimate example of the shoujo 'Gary Stu'. The author's obsessed with him, he's her ideal man, he BARELY has a personality, and when it does come out, he seems to be nothing but a hormonally-confused, manipulative teenager who likes to kiss ten-year-old girls who haven't hit puberty yet. YUCK.


Name: Aoyama Masaya
Manga: Tokyo Mew Mew

Why: For being a flat, boring Gary Stu and stealing Ichigo from Ryou. Also think he's ugly. XD (HAY, LOOKS ARE IMPORTANT IN MANGA lol)

Name: Kuran Kaname
Manga: Vampire Knight

Why: For being too perfect and loved and stealing Yuuki from Zero. I also think he's UGLY!! I don't know why everyone worships the ground he steps on but it's REALLY annoying!

Name: Enju
Manga: Sakurahime Kaden

Why: For being in love with his sister, for abusing his own companions, for being a self-righteous, cold-hearted , murdering asshole, and for RUINING TWO OF THE BEST RELATIONSHIPS IN THE WHOLE SERIES FOR HIS OWN PETTY DEMANDS. I really hope Sakura kills him because he deserves it. He REALLY deserves it.

Name: Hotori Tadase
Manga: Shugo Chara

Why: For being too girly, for the outfits he wears, for being shallow about Amulet Heart, and for trying to get in Ikuto's way.
I don't hate him as much as the others though-he's not one-dimensional, perfect, or a jerk and he treats Amu with respect and kindness, for the most part. I LOVE when Kiseki turns him all psycho and his psycho laugh. XD

.........but it's like.........DEAR TADASE, PLZ TO BE WEARING BOYS' CLOTHES AND ACT MORE LIKE A BOY, KTHXBAI.

Reason: for being the paragon of the bad boy stereotype. those that flock to him are easily the most shallow minded individuals in the world. but for the character himself id go with his inability to free himself, constantly shackling himself to something that wasn't his problem to start with.

I agree with most of what you said, the ones I know at least. I don't really "hate" them though. Well except for Kaname...just don't get me started on it...I don't really like Eichi, Aoyama, or Tadase. (Tadase is the best of them, but he's not my fav character from SC) I just don't really care for the "prince" type. They are like a 5 year olds dream guy, which is unrealistic. The only "prince" type I like is Tamaki Suoh from Ouran because his personality is like the "prince" type with a twist. Although, I don't like all of the bad boys either. Like Sasuke Uchiha from Naruto. I disliked him from the beginning. -_- Basically I dislike who the girl falls for first. The really popular guy. People like Tadase, Sasuke, or Kaname. Now there's a couple guys like Tamaki or Usui Takumi, where they are popular but I like them because the main character doesn't fall for them right away, without getting to know them. And I don't care what the fans say. The fangirls of the anime don't annoy me, the fangirls in anime do. :P



Funny! I respect your opinon of course but that's exactly why I like Ikuto. Because he tries to do everything himself, so he doesn't hurt others. Yes I agree that is a flaw he has. At least he has flaws and isn't a Gary-Stu. That part of him is exactly like me and something I had to deal with....

Those are some extreme feelings inputted in there.

On other note, you pretty much said what I wanted to say. I hate jerks that steal other people's woman, and I hate jerks who does what ever he want just because he's popular in school, or his family is rich. Guys like that should be on deathrow. -_-

Well, even if you say Kuran Kaname is ugly, I bet you can't find any guys in the real world that is good looking as him. You must have pretty high standards for guys.

Also I notice there was a trend in "most" Shoujo manga, the male protagonist is almost but not always flirtatious, and I get really irritated when the girl he flirts with just let him do what ever he wants. FUDGE

A half a dozen female characters popped up in my mind when I read this question, but I couldn't think of any male characters that I hated. Weird. In an anime it's Shirō Emiya from Fate/Stay Night just because he does some really, really stupid things and, in my opinion, doesn't respect Saber enough to let her fight.

Why? He is very insensitive! I mean he shown some feelings towards Yuki but once he finds out she's a pure blood vampire he tells her he will kill her the next time they met. Yes I understand his family was killed by vampires but to give Yuki a treatment like that after all she has done for him? Seriously?

Why? This guy seriously needs help. His Obsession with his best friends Wife (Sumi) is unhealthy. I'm not saying her Husband Soichirio is a saint he has his faults as well. But this guy kidnaps her ties her to a pole in a hotel so she wouldn't run away and the place catches on fire and tells her they will die together. What the--? Sumi is terrified of this psycho! I don't blame her! His nonstop attempt to win her over is outrageous and every time I see him I cringe!

emmmmhrmm..... i cant really think of many male manga characters i despise, normally because if i feel like im starting to hate any character (male OR female) in what im reading, i usually drop it like a couple chapters later.

these 3 annoy me just the way they unconditionally faun all over alice (even though thats the whole point of the storyline i guess.... so maybe i am complaining about the manga in general... ) bleh. even though their character designs are pretty attractive (boris) and wardrobe is kinda cool (blood)....

Reason: He's vile and sadistic! I hate everything about this guy! He treats the students horribly and his sick perverted mind adds to my hatred towards him. He makes sick jokes towards the death of several students and takes pleasure in watching them die in the game. In my opinion he is the worst male character in any manga that I have read (so far).

Why: I just found him annoying. I thought at first it was because I am not that big of a fan of manga/anime babies/children.. but I adore Colonello! So, it's just him I found annoying. He's too full of himself and I dislike how he treats Tsuna. Sadly he is in ALMOST every shot.. *cries*

Why: I don't understand how they're so popular. They're all friggin mean and do the worst possible things to the girls or sometimes guys and yet they're all loved. Why!? Also, the main female lead ALWAYS picks them over the nice caring guy. It just ticks me off so much. So what if they had a tragic past, no need to be all, "I will change him so he can see the joy of life, teehee!" No! No, no, no, no, no! Bad, stupid main girl! Bad! I mean, I've had a tragic past and yet I am not a friggin psycho who torments others for my enjoyment. BLEH!

If you're talking about the ones from shoujo manga, it's usually that the guy has the potential to be nice from the beginning-being with the girl draws it out. I haven't really read manga where the girl is fixed on "changing" her mean love interest-in fact they usually HATE each other in the beginning. When he finally starts acting nicer, she does too and THEN they might fall in love.
