We're adding two NEW live action simulcasts today: Taburakashi & The King 2 Hearts.

Taburakashi will broadcast on Fridays at 7pm PDT in the following territories: U.S.A., Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Netherlands, Middle East, and South America

Maki, a young woman, comes to Tokyo with dreams of becoming an actress. However, the theatrical troupe she belonged to disbanded, and she has become burdened with 6 million yen worth of debt. Maki begins working as a stand-in actress, playing everything from a corpse to a ghost to a newlywed, but will she ever find her success as an actress?

We also added The King 2 Hearts which will broadcast in the U.S.A.and Canada.



This drama is set in modern day where South Korea is governed by a constitutional monarchy. Lee Jae Ha is a handsome and materialistic crown prince that doesn't care about politics. He falls for Kim Hyang Ah, a North Korean special forces agent.

You might be able to watch it on Viki.com ... Viki.com doesn't have a subscriber option, so streaming ads on everything and I think its 480p max, but they have very limited region restrictions ~ normally worldwide outside the country of origin.

Note that Viki is a legit site, not a bootleg site, so they do have some region restrictions. For instance, their license to Glass Maiden (aka Crystal Blaze) blocks it in North America as well as Japan, because Sentai has licensed it for North America.

I don't mind K-dramas at all. I was actually watching "The King 2 Hearts" and it's entertaining, but... Why so damn many? I'm studying Japanese so it helps to watch Japanese dramas but all I find here are K-dramas. I don't mind them, but it seems like that's all you guys have. I do know of a few J-dramas on here so it's not like I'm bitching. However, would be nice to explore some J-dramas unless they stopped making them all together.

Wow, I'm so happy CR finally decided to simulcast dramas! Not to mention, they chosen King 2 Hearts! It's my favorite from the 4 simulcasts I'm watching in a different site. I recommend it to everyone who hasn't tried it. I didn't enjoy it the first two episodes since I wasn't used to the dark comedy/farce format but the romance tickled with the tension of North-South Korea is just amazing. Ha Ji Won and Lee Seung Gi are nailing it! Can't wait till the subs for episodes 7 and 8 come out.

why not in africa

We'd have to have a spy at the license negotiations to know for sure, but it could be that the licensor has split up the rights into different license regions, and Africa didn't end up in the same region as North America.

I suspect that's probably it when I see things go more or less by DVD regions outside of Europe ~ North America is DVD region 1, Australia, New Zealand and South America is DVD region 4, and then two blocks of Region 2 countries ~ the Middle East, and the Northern Europe block.

Inside R2, South Africa is probably in an "English Speaking Countries" licensing block with England and Ireland. If that's true, it would make those three all in or all out from that particular company.

And a Japanese licensing company that carves out "Asia" as a separate block sometimes includes all of R5, and except for Egypt in the Middle East and South Africa in Region 2, the rest of continental Africa is in R5 with most of mainland Asia.

If that's what is going on, "why no Africa" would be, the rights for Africa are in one or two different licensing pots, and so Africa can't just be added to the same license contract that Crunchyroll wrote.

It'll be years yet before everyone licensing content has caught up to the internet and global markets, until then the costs of drawing up two or three or four contracts to get world coverage is going to keep giving us this kind of weird checkerboard licensing.

So as I mentioned to above, a good place to get legally licensed Kdramas is Viki.com. They don't have an ad-free option, and the subs are done by members themselves, so the timing and quality of subtitling in different languages can vary, but as far as I can tell, it has a lot of Kdramas, and many or all of them are worldwide outside of Korea.

King 2 Hearts is pretty good viewing TBH.

Hopefully in the future there will be some Japanese Drama's added these are Korean
