Very shy girls

Even the most outgoing people can be shy sometimes. As long as they're not too shy, it's fine. Well I'm a female my boyfriend was always a bit shy when we first met, but now he's soo much more open now. There's this guy that I'm pretty close with has a crush on me for like..4-5yrs I think, and he is still shy/nervous around me and other girls he doesn't know too well. And he's never had a gf before, I think the main reason is he's just too shy. Often I hear a lot of people girls/guys say they like shy guys/girls but they can feel frustrated after awhile if they feel like they're the ones who's always making the efforts to know them...and will eventually stop and move on.
