One complaint I did have is that they overplayed Inspector Tsunemori's inexperience. Supposedly she was a top student at the academy, but she seemed completely unfamiliar with what would be basic terminology.
The explanation the old man gave her is that the world is unreasonable and that nothing she learned was of use on the field. I think that she was called because they were short of Inspectors. The glasses dude said so at the beginning and expected her to learn on the way.
Anyway, great first episode, awesome setting, premise, and animation.

Felt like watching Speed Grapher, Darker than Black, and Solty Rei all at once. Nice ED song though and Kana Hanazawa played the role of that girl pretty well.

Funimation is working today! Psyco Pass felt like the setting of BladeRunner with the theme of Minority Report. Could be interesting.

To be honest, I kinda got a GITS vibe from it. That black haired woman who we didn't see much of reminded me of Motoko for some reason, I think it was the face that really reminded me of her.
Overall it was a good episode, and I look forward to more.

I didnt get any sort of GITS feeling from this at all. There was no digital brains and synthetic humans, no long-winded discourses about existentialism and whatnot. If you did, that's fine, Im not knocking you for it, just saying I don't see any GITS in the show.  |

cant wait to see how this anime will give me another depression relapse lol... UROBUTCHER is known to destroy almost all the main characters if not killing almost all of them...
and its related to GITS in the way that its a CyberPunk anime (high technological future but with deprive human condition, since human nature is not evolving as fast as technology) and also its a "Cop/Police Series"

I really enjoyed the first episode. I think this has some serious potential.
First thoughts:
- typical future event that will be explained later
- strong hints minority report set in a blade runner like environment
- automated police dolls reminicent of satchi from denno coil
- bad things (drug related) are happening so police are over tasked
- typical rookie trope -- used to introduce us to technical details
- Egoist/supercell ED. :)

Now that was a great1st episode! Really love the sci-fi element fix in with thriller elements, it was one hell of a ride. I love Akira Amano's character designs for this one as well, their really something special in my opinion. Find it awesome that Akane's eyes are just the same as Tsuna's eyes from Katekyō Hitman Reborn! The backgrounds are very well done creating that proper dark atmosphere element that is present in this anime, plus the bloody scenes are quite bloody. Oh must I add that both the OP/ED are amazing!!!! A definitive watch on my list and begging for moar >:3
