This announcement isn't so much about CR giving up anime as it is the downfall of Bandai Entertainment. Hulu is also losing some of its Bandai titles. Gurren Lagann was removed earlier in the year. In fact, I recall it having an expiration date in 2013, so I think it was removed a year early, and unfortunately there wasn't enough time for me to watch it without likely having to pull an all-nighter. Eureka Seven, which has already been removed from CR, will have many of its latter episodes (not sure why they don't just remove the entire show) removed on this upcoming New Year's Day. Right now I'm trying to finish it up before then. In response to the claim of Hulu possibly getting the shows that CR is giving up, I would be very shocked if that happens in this case.

Question for those who have seen Code GEASS, especially those who have seen both the subtitled version and the English dub. Since I plan to only make time for one of them before it expires, which version do you recommend?

We'll soon find out what happens here on these other streaming services and I understand it's about the fall of Bandai Entertainment. These are too good of shows though, in my opinion, to just let them fall through. On some front there will be movement on this. If I recall correctly Geass didn't have an expiration date until far in the future, so I know this isn't something they planned for.

I understand the caveats of doing business this way, but I'm still very disappointed.



Well, that very much depends. I enjoy subbed anime much more now than I do dubbed. It's a preference of style. I think most, not all, subs are superior to their English dubs. Some people don't like subs and would rather listen to the dialogue in English.

If you like dubs, the one for Geass isn't bad, but I still prefer the Sub.
