Ontario and Quebec for sure. We're trying to find out if it extends beyond those two provinces. Someone responding from the west (Alberta I think) said they USED to have bagged milk in the past.

My generation and older. Especially the generation before mine. They did not have it easy. and ... I can... understand.. (not condone, not approve) understand why they would have a chip on their shoulder.

Well I can only think good about Canada, they have been great Allies to us Welsh/British for some time. I remember reading an article once where Canada is the best place to live in the world, I think I might go there one day, but thats it. Canada is a good and underrated country and unlike their neighbors USA.

I suppose, but it's a way of thinking that needs to be squashed out of existence. I have no qualms over berating a senior over something that tactless. Perhaps if the exchange had been among people of the same generation, I'd be less inclined at revulsion.

You're absolutely right. Understanding and Empathy do not equal tolerance or license. And if one wants to be treated with dignity and respect (and it's largely about respect) the one should as they say, embody the change.

It's alright! I mean, I can sort of understand, if I had been rude or anything. But I'd like to think I'm a pretty amiable person, especially if I don't know someone, and things. So I can't really justify their impudence? But it's alright! I ended up meeting a few other people who were quite the deal kinder. I didn't associate it with Canadians, or anything. (':

The stereotype is that everyone in the USA at some point has had a long distance boyfriend/girlfriend from Canada.
