Being forced to drive, is that okay? What are your opinions?

I don't feel like driving. If I can walk to work with no problem. I see no reason to waste money on a car and insurance to save me those extra 20 minutes. Been saving money for 2 years now.

Last i checked, most people would agree that driving a car isn't all that difficult. Passing an algebra class would probably be twice as hard

Well, i mean, as long as you have some kind of government ID it should be fine right? I have work and school so I kind of HAVE to drive and stop relying on my family
but then what Jay says. Gas is too expensive for me to afford nowadays |

Driving kicks ass. Soooo liberating.
Also, as soon as I read the word "drive" I immediately thought of Night Drive: BUM BUM BUM Drive all night Never gonna get me Night by night To get away from it all Fight, fight, fight All you wanna do is hurt me You wrecked my life So I’m gonna have to drive all night BUM BUM BUM Forgive the posting of lyrics as a response. |

You have an excuse and no women would hold that against you in that aspect. ^_^ By the way......if your blind....how were you able to read my post? I get that question often enough, but the simplest answer is that I'm not fully blind, just mostly so. I was born severely nearsighted, plus astigmatism in both eyes, so I'm classified as legally blind. My eyesight's degenerative, and I know I'll eventually lose it. In the meantime, I can still watch anime and play games, and try to do so daily; I just have to sit rather close to the TV/monitor, in either case. I'm still a voracious reader, too. I even used to be a somewhat decent archer back in college (with the aid of a bow sight and binoculars, of course.) Without my glasses, I can't discern human faces from over two to three feet away. Even with them, I have to be under 10-12 feet away from street signs before I can be sure to read them. It stands to reason that my reaction time is severely reduced for focusing on anything at a distance, or appropriately small and moving (hence my terrible performance in FPS games.) I still would question the mental health of anyone who would suggest that I should be driving. |

The worst part about driving is the people out there that either don't know what their doing or just too lazy to follow the rules, so you'll end up yelling in your car at them even though no one can even hear you.

I'm taking my sweet time with it. I've come a long way, but I don't have my license yet.
Regardless of whether or not you like driving, you should probably get your license. That way you can drive around and go places. |

Am I the only one that actually wants to drive? I was that excited to be able to drive I booked my first lesson the day after my birthday, I love doing the lessons and buses are a piss take to get in and out of town!

When you were little, you probably didn't want to learn to wipe your own butt either. Why wipe yourself and get your hands dirty when you can yell for mommy or daddy? Driving is the same thing except that driving can be enjoyable. Guess what - in the real world you'll probably have to get somewhere at some time. Unless you have plenty of money for taxis or private drivers, learning to drive is a necessity. If you live in a major metropolitan area with a great mass transit system driving is a luxury. If you live anywhere else on the North American continent, LEARN TO DRIVE YOU SELFISH TWIT! Mommy and daddy aren't going to be your personal taxi forever. And learn to drive WELL while you're at it. There are lots of people on the roads with families to see and work to do. Try not to screw them over. Are you seriously comparing wiping your ass to driving? because hormones can be ignorant -_- Yes, I AM comparing wiping your ass with driving. They are both common chores that every reasonable independent adult should be able to do for themselves. Both skills grant a great deal of independence and mobility. Both skills are considered milestones when growing up. Both skills are considered necessary by most of society -- ESPECIALLY employers. And finally, BOTH skills can have very messy consequences if you screw up. |

I had no idea people felt this way - Its quite interesting.
I've actually always wanted to drive, but my vision is too poor (about 20/300), so I can't (and haven't even bothered trying). But public transportation works well enough so that driving really isn't necessary. However, not driving is a big hassle for me personally because I hate relying on other people to get me to where I need to be. Although public transportation works, you have to leave hours ahead of time. Similarly, I've had friends and family drive me places, but they couldn't care less if I arrive there on time or not and it FREAKING annoys me. But I suppose the grass is always greener on the other side, so I can understand why someone wouldn't want to learn how to drive ^.^ |

Besides, if you love your family and friends don't you want to help them rather than take all the time? Maybe they have personal issues that prevents them from doing things like learning to drive or getting a job. I agree, if you do something for yourself for your own benefit you will feel good about it. Some people can't physically do things on their own, are they considered worthless then? Now, I know most of the people in these posts probably aren't disabled that badly, but you never know and it's good to take that into consideration. Regarding the topic, personally, I have no interest whatsoever in driving or getting a job at the moment. Sure, I still need them to advance in life but right now those things aren't my top priority. Humanity will not be screwed because a few kids or young adults haven't taken it upon themselves to learn to drive or get a job, that's just rude. Calling people little brats isn't a way to get a point across either. Everyone is different, you aren't like everyone else and everyone else isn't like you. Please clarify and correct me if I'm wrong or anything. |

If you wipe your ass the wrong way, you can always try again. If you crash, it's not something you can take back. You don't get brownie points for knowing how to rub toilet paper on your butt hole. If you think that is a good analogy, then anything can be compared to driving. In this society, if you can't wipe your ass go live in a tribe. |
